Harrovian joins Wasps Senior Rugby Academy

Recent leaver Anjo Ademuwagun (Druries 20143) has been made one of 16 full-time players in Wasps'  Senior Academy squad for the 2019/20 season.

Anjo is one of 11 new additions to the squad, having graduated from the team's under-18 division, after being spotted by Wasps scouts in 2014. He plays in the back row, and bounced back from a knee injury in early 2018. He says, “I’ve made no secret that my dream is to one day represent the Wasps first-team and then go on to become a doctor.”

Wasps Academy Manager Jon Pendlebury said, “We’re delighted to welcome a number of faces from our successful Under 18s side up to the Senior Academy. This young group have been tremendous and demonstrated their talents during an impressive campaign once again, which saw us reach Finals Day, while also scoring the most tries of any team in the competition – with 44 tries in just seven games."

Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said: “It’s really pleasing to see the conveyor belt of youth talent coming through...I for one am looking forward to seeing these hungry young players in match action to showcase what they can do.”
