Former Head Master awarded CBE

Congratulations to former Head Master Barnaby Lenon, now Chairman of the Independent Schools Council and Chair of Governors at the London Academy of Excellence, who was awarded a CBE in the Queen's birthday honours earlier this summer.

Mr Lenon began his career at Sherborne School, before moving on to Eton, where he taught for 12 years. Prior to becoming Harrow's Head Master in 1999, he taught at Holland Park School, Highgate School (where he was Deputy Headmaster) and Trinity School Croydon (where he was Head Master). During his tenure at Harrow, the School's popularity increased and there was significant improvement in its academic results.

Mr Lenon was appointed Chairman of the Independent Schools Council in 2011, to oversee lobbying, research, the press and legal advice for the 1,250+ member schools.
