Scholarships and university places

The Officers of the Harrow Rifle Corps are exceptionally proud to celebrate the success of two of the Corps’ senior boys in gaining prestigious scholarships to the Army.

Jack (Lyon's) and Peter (The Grove) were selected from hundreds of applicants to be awarded places on the Army Officer Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship is offered to just 100 students across the country who have demonstrated the potential to make excellent Army officers. Jack and Peter underwent a three-day selection process at Westbury in Wiltshire and are now guaranteed a place at Sandhurst on completion of their university education.

Sgt Instructor, Piers Lemoine, said: "Both Jack, in his role as Senior Under Officer and Head of the Harrow Rifle Corps, and Peter, in his role as Under Officer and Head of Army, have been leaders during both virtual and face-to-face training this year and have been instrumental in the successful development of cadets despite challenging circumstances."

Boys across the school have acquired a large number of UCAS offers with over half of the Upper Sixth holding at least three and many boys holding offers from all five of their chosen universities including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL and Imperial.  Boys also hold offers from many Ivy League universities including Harvard.
