Harrow School and The Football Association celebrate 150th anniversary of The FA Cup’s first Final

This year Harrow School celebrates its 450th anniversary and it recently joined forces with The Football Association to commemorate 150 years since The FA Cup’s inaugural Final.

Debbie Hewitt, Chair of The FA, unveiled a specially commissioned plaque dedicated to Old Harrovian Charles Alcock, who is credited as the competition’s founding father.

Twelve local primary schools with whom Harrow has formed strong partnerships competed for ‘The Charles Alcock Cup’, and eight senior teams competed to win the ‘150th Anniversary Cup’. Congratulations to Wetherby Prep on winning the junior competition and Forest School for winning the senior tournament.

As part of the day, footballers Jamie Redknapp, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Emmanuel Shittu took part in a Q&A session with Harrow School boys and pupils from participating schools.
