Founder's Day

This Sunday, the School would ordinarily have celebrated Founder's Day on the Hill.

Traditionally, we celebrate Founder's Day on a Sunday as close as possible to 19 February, the date the Queen Elizabeth I Charter was given to local landowning farmer and founder of Harrow School, John Lyon, in 1572.

Events would have involved parents taking the opportunity to watch the boys play Harrow football against Old Harrovians on the muddy fields, and to attend a service in Chapel as we collectively celebrated our foundation 449 years ago.

This year, instead, The Guild, the body of boys selected for their artistic achievements and tasked with promoting, inspiring and encouraging cultural life on the Hill, put together a collection of artistic content online which was been enjoyed by parents, boys and staff.
