Children’s Commissioner Rachel de Souza visits Harrow School

Dame Rachel de Souza visited Harrow School to give the annual Shaftesbury Lecture held in Speech Room. As Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel sits at the heart of the Government, delivering for young people and championing their voices and needs. Described as ‘the eyes and ears of children within the system and the country as a whole’, she was a headteacher, the founding Chief Executive of the Inspiration Trust and was appointed DBE in 2014 for services to education.

In her lecture, Dame Rachel spoke about ‘The Big Ask’, the largest survey response of its kind anywhere in the world. She offered insights based on the compelling results of her ground-breaking survey and challenged our community to play our part in crafting a happier, safer future for all children.

Our charitable, outreach and partnership work is central to Harrow School life and is referred to as Shaftesbury Enterprise. Our latest Annual Impact Report serves as a snapshot of the work that we are doing as a School.
