Verney Prize 2025

The Verney Prize is a significant Sixth Form Speech Day prize awarded to the boy who produces the best arguments in both a written round and a final viva voce round.

Dr Conor Cunningham, Associate Professor in Theology and Philosophy at the University of Nottingham, was this year’s adjudicator. Dr Cunningham awarded the Verney Prize to Jeff, praising his “clarity of argument, restraint of style, and remarkable composure under questioning.”

The prize itself was donated by Judge Verney to mark the link of 200 years between Harrow and the Verney family.
