An exhibition celebrating the work of artist Richard Shirley Smith has opened in Harrow School's Pasmore Gallery.

The collection showcases a selection of the Old Harrovian's works, from paintings created at Harrow to more recent work.

Self-taught, Richard is renowned for his finely crafted illustrations inspired by Italian architecture, theatre, poetry and classicism.

His son, Leo Shirley Smith, is an accomplished Bond Street silversmith and designer of Harrow’s Values medals.
