Music online

It has been a busy half term for our musicians, who have continued to be involved with a number of concerts, albeit in a somewhat different format.

Last term concluded with wonderful Carol Services, with performances from the Chapel Choir, Byron Consort and the Brass Ensemble. So far this term, all the concerts have taken place online but have been enjoyed by the whole School community.

There have been three lunchtime concerts which have seen performances from Krish Nigam (guitar recital), Brandon Chang and Cody Xu (violin and piano recital) and an excellent Shell Violinist concert which made full use of the technology to present this so effectively.  Additionally, a dozen boys performed in the recent Woodwind Evening.

While we have missed the important whole-School opportunities for singing Harrow Songs, the Singing Prizes have continued nevertheless. These performances will soon be available online with an adjudication from eminent tenor and OH Ed Lyon.

There have also been some special performances and recordings for Founder's Day which took place on Sunday 7 February and marked the 449th anniversary of our founding.

Boys have enjoyed discussing musical issues as well with The Guild running some editions of Desert Island Discs and the Buck Society producing podcasts where beaks discuss musical choices from different periods.
