We're looking forward to welcoming back our newly appointed Monitors who will undertake three days of training before formally taking up their roles at the start of term.

At the end of the Summer term, 24 Lower Sixth boys from across the School's 12 boarding Houses were appointed Monitors after a selection process.

The role of a Monitor at Harrow is varied but, ultimately, it is one of service to the School community. School Monitors are expected to proactively promote excellence at Harrow by being good role models for younger boys in the School, by taking a pastoral interest in the well-being of other boys, by taking the initiative where appropriate in order to ensure good behaviour and civilised conduct in all circumstances. Some Monitors will have specific responsibility for matters such as EDI, Sustainability, Wellbeing and Technology.

Monitors receive their keys in a formal ceremony in Speech Room at the beginning of the academic year. In keeping with the solemnity of the occasion, the ceremony takes place without applause, reflecting the seriousness of the role and the weight of responsibility entrusted to them.
