Five Harrovians have received a CREST Gold Award for their group project on making thermochromic dyes - dyes that change colour at different temperatures.

The boys researched how such dyes are made and produced their own in the Schools' labs: a vibrant violet that first turns blue and then white when heated strongly.

CREST is a nationally recognised scheme for student-led project work in the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths).
