The Head of School delivered the Contio Latina in Speech Room to Governors.

The history of this event dates to the 1650s and was an opportunity for boys to show their proficiency in Latin by giving a speech in the language.

The first record of Contio Latina was in 1674 when John Dennis gave his speech at the Governors' annual audit meeting.
