Churchill Songs

The entire School gathered in Speech Room for Churchill Songs.

This unique Harrow tradition, held each autumn term in honour of Sir Winston Churchill (The Head Master's 1888²) dates back to 1940 when the then Prime Minister returned to sing with the School, lifting spirits in the darkest days of war.

Churchill described Harrow Songs as “shin[ing] through the memories of men... They cheer and enlighten us... and I think they are, on the whole, the most precious inheritance of all Harrovians.”

This year's Guest of Honour was Rebecca Salter CBE, President of the Royal Academy of Arts.
