Boys take part in Frankly Speaking Debate at US Embassy

Debaters Alexander and Vincent represented Harrow in the Years 10-11 bracket of the Frankly Speaking Competition, organised by the Benjamin Franklin House in collaboration with the US Embassy London.

After breaking through the semi-final rounds, both boys were invited to the US Embassy to compete in the final, an extraordinary privilege.

The US Ambassador to the UK delivered a speech to the whole audience in advance of the competition and announced the final motion: “This house believes that publishing fake news should be a crime”. Both boys were well-versed in the motion and confident, they delivered their best performance of the day. The adjudication awarded Harrow second place, and Vincent was awarded runner-up for Best Speaker.
