A taste of Harrow football for the Shells

Harrow Shells (Year 9s) have thrown themselves into their first experience of Harrow football.

Despite an introduction to the School's unique form of the game at the end of last term, practical lessons were put on hold when schools were closed for much of this term.

However, boys have made the most of their three weeks back in School with several matches played between Houses.

Harrow football took off in the mid 1800s and involves teams of 11 players using a leather-stitched pie-shaped ball to score 'bases'. Harrow football precedes association football and is played exclusively at Harrow.

This week, as we near the end of term, we look forward to a match between the Leavers and Lower Sixth which will be a closely fought battle.
