Old Harrovian Players

Old Harrovian Players

Today, the UK is divided over the legitimacy of Brussels. In Richard ll, Shakespeare is concerned with the legitimacy of Kings and their right to rule England.

In this year of political controversy – as well as being the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death – it is most fitting that the Old Harrovian Players should again present the play which was the choice of their first ever production in 1952 - and never a year missed since then.

In keeping with tradition, this 65th Old Harrovian Shakespeare play united some familiar faces with emerging professional talent. Richard ll combines political drama and unrest with human tragedy, and contains some of Shakespeare’s most beautiful language.
