New Director of Sport from September 2019

Following Brendan McKerchar's appointment as House Master of Druries from September 2019, we are pleased to announce that Richard Finch will be Harrow's next Director of Sport. 

Richard is currently the Head of PE, the Assistant Director of Sport and a Deputy Housemaster at Oundle School. Prior to this, he was the Director of Sport at Harrow International School Hong Kong. He has a keen interest in all sports, having played for many representative teams, including junior international hockey for England and semi-professional rugby, and having coached many other sports from beginner to elite level.

Richard began teaching 16 years ago and has a BA (Hons) degree with Qualified Teacher Status in Physical Education and Geography. He also holds an MSc in Exercise Physiology, for which he focused on performance enhancement and injury prevention, and an MA in Psychology. He is particularly interested in health and performance psychology, and is working towards completing a PhD on this topic.

Richard enjoys outdoor pursuits, especially skiiing, shooting and diving. At Oundle, he runs the advanced infantry section of the CCF's Army section, pulling on the experience and knowledge he has gained as a Royal Marine Commando Reserve.
