Head of School and Outstanding Talent scholar Carlo Agostinelli (The Head Master's) is one of eight soccer players to be recruited by Stanford Cardinal, the sports teams that represent Stanford University, for the 2019 season.
Stanford has won three of the last four NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) titles and 23 consecutive NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics) Directors' Cups, which are awarded annually to the most successful university sports programme in the US.
Carlo has played for School teams since arriving at Harrow in 2014. In 2016 and 2018, the Under-18 teams he played in were champions of the Southern Independent Schools Lent Team League, and reached the final 16 of the Independent Schools Football Cup (making the quarterfinal in 2017). In 2018, his team was invited to the Dallas Cup. Prior to joining Harrow, Carlo played for Tottenham Hotspurs' development squad. In his spare time, he works on The Eleven Foundation, the non-profit organisation that he founded to help deprived children build better lives through soccer.
Expressing his excitement about the recent signings, Director of Men's Soccer Jeremy Gunn, said, "...there is no doubt that our staff has attracted a phenomenal group to The Farm. We have signed some of the brightest strikers in the country who will hopefully continue the rich tradition of top-level goal scorers in our program...Competition for places will be fierce when combining the quality and balance of this incoming group with a strong returning squad."
Carlo is an exciting and fluid attacking player who can drift past defenders with and without the ball. He is equally comfortable with his back to goal, out wide or as an underneath striker. We admire his bravery and willingness to always want the ball to create chances.
