Last month, Tim Dalton, Harrow's Director of Shaftesbury Enterprise (community partnerships), spoke at a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Independent Education.
Titled 'Introduction to Partnerships', the event took place in Portcullis House and was chaired by Andrew Lewer MP, Chairman of the APPG. Alongside colleagues from Abingdon, Canford, Dulwich, Highgate, Lord Wandsworth and St Margaret's Hampstead, Tim gave a brief overview about Harrow and the partnership work we undertake. This was followed by debate, discussion and questions from the five parliamentarians in attendance.
Over 250 Harrovians regularly take part in philanthropic activities, giving 8,000 hours to them last year. Over 100 members of staff are also involved, giving 2,000 hours in co-ordinating, coaching, mentoring and other contributions during the same period. 17 members of staff are governors at maintained schools.
