Harrow's 60-strong Catering team provides breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week during term time for our 830 boys - that is 3,500 meals per school day and 25,000 packed meals each year.
Given the scale of our catering operation, environmental sustainability is a top priority. In our packed meals, we supply water bottles made from 50% recycled plastic by Belu, who invest 100% of their net profits in the clean water charity WaterAid. Our salad containers are fully compostable and made from sugarcane, while our sandwich and bagette packaging is 100% biodegradable.
We work with our suppliers to improve their sustainability practices too; for example, we have recently given our fruit and vegetable supplier reusable containers in which to package 60% of our order, rather than using cardboard boxes.
