Long Ducker

On Sunday 4 November, over 1,000 Harrovians, Old Harrovians, staff and parents took part in Long Ducker, an annual festival of sponsored sporting events.

Most participants run 10km from Wembley to Harrow on the Hill. In addition, this year, two boys completed the Double Long Ducker - a 10km swim, followed by a 20km run. Their event started in the School swimming pool at 4am. Nearly 30 other boys swam either 5km or 10km, some of whom also ran 10km.

Proceeds from the 2018 event will support Harrow Carers, as well as local projects with our partner schools and charities, such as the Harrow Club.

Harrow Carers works in partnership with organisations from the local community to identify and support people who provide unpaid care for a vulnerable person. This includes adult and young carers (children under 18 years old who care for a parent or sibling).

Based in North Kensington, the Harrow Club was formed 130 years ago and provides educational and recreational opportunities to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in West London. It was recently awarded a Gold Quality Mark by London Youth, as an example of an effective and well-run youth and community centre.
