A Bell for Ypres

The Harrow Association (HA) and Harrow Development Trust (HDT) donated the tenor bell for a new ring of eight bells in the St George's Memorial Church in Ypres in Belgium, in honour of the Harrovians and Masters who died in World War One.

The story was picked up by The Telegraph on Sunday 11 November, in an article titled 'Church bells built by Telegraph readers ring on Armistice Day for first time'. The article mentions that some of the eight bells are engraved with the "names of schools whose boys went over the top to their doom" - this includes the heaviest bell, the tenor, which was donated by Harrow and weighs 672 pounds.
