LONG DUCKER 2019

On Sunday 3 November, over 1000 Harrovians, Old Harrovians, staff and parents took part in this year’s Long Ducker, an annual festival of sponsored sporting events.

Participants ran either 10k or a half marathon, starting and finishing at the School’s famous Ducker pitches and Bill Yard. Some did the challenging ‘double ducker’, a 10k swim followed by the half marathon run.

The annual event has raised nearly £500,000 for good causes in the last five years. This year’s donations, which look set to improve on last year’s record level of fundraising, will be going to Spear Harrow. The charity helps disadvantaged young people into work, as well as running local projects with our partner schools and charities, such as the Harrow Club.

Based in North Kensington, the Harrow Club was formed 130 years ago and provides educational and recreational opportunities to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in West London. It was recently awarded a Gold Quality Mark by London Youth, as an example of an effective and well-run youth and community centre.
