16 September until March 2009

Woman Photo
James Donovan (Newlands 19963)

The exhibition showcases a wide variety of work by accomplished and professional Old Harrovian photographers. The distinguished tradition of innovation and diversity starts with Fox Talbot at the 'dawn of modern photography', and continues with some iconic works by society photographers Cecil Beaton and Patrick Lichfield. Today's established and up-and-coming exponents of the medium work across diverse fields – fashion, portraiture, news, sport, photojournalism and fine art. Images by recent leavers and current senior boys from the School's new Photography department reveal a maturity and artistry that looks set to ensure they follow in the footsteps of their predecessors.
