School events open to the Public
There are a number of musical events held during term-time to which members of the wider Harrow community are very welcome.
Every December the School hosts Town Carols, a carol concert open to anyone in the Harrow area. During term-time, Harrow School musicians entertain with the Lunchtime Concert series every Tuesday in St Mary's Church, Harrow on the Hill. The Commemoration Concert features orchestras from Harrow School and John Lyon School and is well worth attending. It takes place every October in Speech Room. The Michaelmas Concert also takes place in Speech Room in the Autumn term, and audiences are treated to big band music from the School's Concert Band, as well as the School Orchestra and the Jazz Band. Tickets for the Choral Society Concert in March are always hotly contested, to hear Harrow School boys singing a major choral work with girls from a nearby girls' school as well as School staff, both teaching and support.
For the events listed above and others, search the School Calendar for dates, and contact music@harrowschool.org.uk or phone 020 8872 8231 for more information. The Music Schools Secretary will be able to tell you whether the event in the Calendar is open to all or is School only.
Unfortunately, events in the Ryan Theatre are open only to the School community and the Friends of Harrow School due to planning restrictions. Click here for more information about the Friends of Harrow School.
