Home and School

"In their replies to the pre-inspection questionnaire, the parents were overwhelmingly enthusiastic in their appreciation of the education their sons receive. They strongly endorsed the quality of the curriculum, the teaching, and the help and guidance provided, including the promotion of worthwhile attitudes and behaviour, the boarding arrangements and the handling of any concerns…A relatively small proportion of parents felt that they are not encouraged to be involved in the life and work of the school. However, several commented that they do not particularly expect this in a fully boarding school. The inspectors found that parents have ready contact with their sons and are well involved in support of the school's activities, including attendance at sports fixtures, music and drama." – 2006 Inspection Report

Pupils keep in close touch with their parents during the term. Parents are encouraged to come to the School frequently to support games fixtures, plays and concerts or to take their sons out. Boys keep in touch by telephone and email - and have even been known to write a letter. There are frequent exeat weekends.

The School keeps parents informed of their sons' progress. The House Master is the direct point of contact. As well as termly written reports there are annual meetings with your son's teachers.
