The AS covers virtually all of the statistical techniques needed for Geography, Business Studies, Economics and the Sciences. The complete A-level enables students to have a considerable head start at University if they read any of the above subjects or many others including Psychology and Social Science and of course, Mathematics. The course aims to be taught by looking at subject-relevant or topical Statistics and encourages a practical, "hands on" approach to data analysis and decision making. Similarly, "number-crunching" will be done on computers and calculators and the examinations reflect this.
