Charity Projects Abroad

Charity projects are organised in alternate years. All Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth boys are welcome to join this dynamic group.

The boys meet weekly when planning a new project. The aim is to reach out to people or children in less privileged situations abroad and try to improve their everyday lives.

Recent projects include building a bridge for a poor community in the Costa Rican jungle in 2008 to provide access to the beach. Another project provided water on-site for The Good Hope Orphanage in Tanzania in 2010 as the nearest water was two miles away. Click here for photos and video of this project.

The 2011 project was in Malawi where a group of Harrovians and staff built a school classroom and community hall of 288 square metres in a school of 1,477 students which can only actually accommodate 200 children. This year was an exception to the two year rule and the next project will be in 2013.
